Conan Meriadoc
King of Dumnonia & Brittany. Born c.AD 305. Welsh: Cynan; Latin: Conanus; English: Conan.
Conan was the son of Octavius the Old's brother, Gerontius (or Octavius himself according to the Dream of Macsen Wledig). He had expected to inherit his uncle's position of influence in what is now Wales, until his cousin, Helena, married the Roman citizen, Magnus Maximus. Originally, Conan was considerably put out by this man's rise to power and he organised a rebellion against him, aided by Picts & Scots. However, being defeated, Conan became great friends with his rival and travelled with Maximus to the continent to help him become Emperor of the West. He was given control over Armorica (modern Brittany) as a reward for killing the previous holder of the title. His new province, was well settled by his men-at-arms, however they lacked wives. Therefore, in order to populate the area, he sent to his uncle's old ally, Donaut of Dumnonia for numerous Cornish ladies. Conan proposed to cement the alliance of their two peoples by marrying Donaut's daughter, Ursula. Though Donaut was delighted at the match, Ursula had her heart set on a life devoted only to God. She agreed to the marriage on the condition that she first be allowed to go on a pilgrimage throughout Europe. Conan appears to have joined her in Rome, where the two must have been married, probably by Pope Cyriacus himself. He apparently did not travel to Cologne where Ursula died. In later years, he gained considerable influence in Dumnonia after the death of his father-in-law. The Governorship of Armorica & Dumnonia was united for only a short time. As his second wife Conan married Dareca of Ireland, a supposed, though unlikely, sister of St. Patrick. Upon Conan's death, around AD 395, control of each region fell to the sons of his two marriages, Gadeon and Gradlon.

I am twenty three years old and I have been learning English for several years now. First of all, I attended a course in a primary school which did give me the very basis of English, essential for further development. The reason why I have chosen your very college is twofold. Jakie masz teraz zdanie o rozwodzie swoich rodziców? Jak to jest - przedtem obraziłeś sie na Boga za rozwód rodziców a teraz mu wybaczyłeś? Mogę tylko się domyślać, że przedtem winiłeś Boga za ich nieudane małżeństwo. A nie sądzisz, że sprawdziły się słowa z listu apostoła Pawła do Galatów - Ga 6:7-8

Często ludzie szydzący z Boga zaczynają wówczas narzekać na swoje położenie i mówią: „Dlaczego akurat mnie to spotkało?” Zachowują się tak, jak gdyby opatrzność Boska zrządziła, że oni są niewinnymi ofiarami. W Księdze Przysłów 19:3 Biblia mówi, że ludzie są do tego skłonni. W New English Bible tak oddano ten werset: „Szaleństwo człowieka rujnuje mu życie, a potem on żywi urazę do PANA”. W Nowym Przekładzie (wydanym przez Bryt. i Zagr. Tow. Bibl.) natomiast czytamy: „To głupota prowadzi człowieka na manowce, a potem jego serce wybucha gniewem na Pana”.

Baza utworzona wg szablonu Classical jest funkcjonalna. Można ją rozwijać i korzystać z niej do nauki. Jednak drobne litery na szarym tle powodują szybkie zmęczenie oczu, co skutkuje zniechęceniem do nauki, dlatego należy ten szablon zmienić na przyjemniejszy dla oczu.
Nie jest to wcale trudne. Proponuję zacząć od zmiany koloru tła. W tym celu naciskamy jednocześnie klawisze CTRL+A, ustawiamy kursor na dowolnym punkcie tła i naciskamy prawy klawisz myszki. Z menu, które pojawi się wskutek tej operacji wybieramy i zatwierdzamy opcję Color..., po czym klikamy na okienku koloru, który najbardziej nam się podoba. Ja wybieram kolor biały. Teraz wyglad strony staje się przyjemniejszy. Jednak litery są wciąż zbyt małe.
Żeby to zmienić ustawiamy kursor na polu pytania i naciskamy prawy klawisz myszki. Z menu podręcznego wybieramy opcje Text->New font... i podobnie jak w MS Wordzie wybieramy kształt czcionki. Ja dla tekstu angielskiego zazwyczaj wybieram czcionkę Arial - Pogrubiona kursywa - wielkość 14 - Skrypt zachodni. Dla tekstu polskiego wybieram analogicznie Arial - Pogrubienie - wielkość 14 - Skrypt Europa Środkowa. Każdy użytkownik może rodzaj, wielkość i kolor czcionki dobrać wg własnego uznania. Po zatwierdzeniu wyboru program proponuje umowną nazwę czcionki np. "Arial, 14, WindowText". Ja zazwyczaj zmieniam ją na FontBr14 lub FontPl14.
Po ustawieniu koloru tła i rodzaju czcionek możemy popróbować pisać w obu polach, sprawdzając czy wpisywane teksty są czytelne, zwracając szczególna uwagę uwagę na polskie znaki diakrytyczne i angielski znak £. Jeśli Wszystkie znaki zapisywane są prawidłowo, czyścimy oba pola (Pytanie i Odpowiedź) i zapisujemy tak utworzony element jako obowiązujacy szablon domyślny. Zakładam, że pytanie zawiera czcionkę angielską, a odpowiedź polską.
W celu zapisania tego elementu jako szablony nadajemy mu nazwę English Question i umieszczając kursor na dowolnym elemencie tła naciskamy prawy klawisz myszki. Z menu podręcznego, które pojawi się wybieramy opcję Template->Save as default. Program zaproponuje nam teraz nazwę szablonu "English Question", którą zatwierdzamy przyciskiem OK. Od tej pory każde naciśnięcie klawiszy Ctrl+A otworzy nam element wg tego szablonu.
Proszę poćwiczyć wpisywanie słówek wg tego szablonu wpisując po każdym Ctrl+A odpowiednie wartości do obu pól i zatwierdzać gotowy element klawiszem ESC. A nastepnie dokonać importu z pliku Q'n'A. Powstała w ten sposób baza będzie bardziej czytelna i łatwiej się będzie z niej uczyć.
W następnym poście pokażę jak można ją upiększyć i jak dodać do niej inne elementy.

Akurat nieprawda Overflow jest też mniej-więcej równoznaczny z flood. Na poparcie parę zdań skopiowanych ze słowników:

Oczywiście, w takim znaczeniu jak Ty podałeś, overflow też funkcjonuje Tyle, że nie tylko w takim

To zdanie mi nie pasuje. Rozumiem, że chodziło o wyliczanie w punktach, Tylko że to zdanie nie ma czasownika, nie jest więc poprawne. Jeśli to prezentacja ustna, to nie będziesz "mówiła w punktach", bo punktów w mowie nie widać i trzeba formułować poprawne gramatycznie zdania. Proponuję usunąć "which" lub przebudować jakoś zdanie. A, no i "heat" jest niepoliczalne, więc nie możesz dodać "s" na końcu

Last but not least to nie przymiotnik, nie oznacza więc "ostatnim lecz nie mniej ważnym", tylko coś w stylu "na koniec, nie umniejszając wagi". Nie spotkałam się z traktowaniem tego zwrotku jako przymiotnik, nie można tam też wetknąć "the". To jest po prostu takie gotowe sformułowanie. W języku pisanym występuje po nim zwykle przecinek. Zmieniłam też zdanie po przecinku, bo np pisałaś "this", ale do czego się odnosi to "this"? nie ma wymienionych konkretnych chorób. Poza tym, jakoś mi to całe zdanie wydawało się enigmatyczne.
Mam nadzieję że nie namieszałam tutaj za bardzo

Especially with English, which is characterized by low grade of ability between spoken out letters and syllables. English is a language operated by 26 letters for creation 44 syllables, so there is a small correspondence between spelling and tone of word. Therapeutics’ from British Dyslexia Association they consider , that instructing the English to dyslexic children is obligated to have an oral communication in operation. It is important to underlining of approaches in instructing the target language, an aural, optical, tactile experiences. In case of developmental dyslexia, the grade from English it should be based on- oral statements.

Children with this dysfunctions have serious problems with learning and they obtain bad grades. They are not in condition to take basic language questions. The problem seems to be serious and composite. The students can’t adopt instructed material. Failures, lack progress of learning, they lower faith to personal power and they weaken motivation. Process of school failuries in consequence can cause to disturbances of behavior.

Children are our future so we must take care of them. They need our help, we should strengthen their chance of “a good start”.
I would care of childrens' free time (trochę niejasne, jeśli zająć się to "take care of" jeśli zwracać większą uwagę to "take more care about"). They haven’t many places where they can go and spend (some - niekonieczne, ale ładnie tu pasuje) nice time. I’d try to ensure it to them (czyste wyczucie, próbowałem znaleźć coś, co zastąpi assure, któe mi tu "nie brzmi", ale sam nei jestem pewien rezulatatu). In a special center they’d can (tu męska decyzja: albo "can", albo "would", obydwa nie. Ewentualnie "they'd be able to") learn dancing, drawing, playing chess, Children should build up their interest. They should have a free ticket for a swimming pool and have free swimming lessons. I’d organize trip to many interesting cities, places. Children likes experiencing (albo "like to experience") new things. They’d go to free summer camps (jestem prawie pewien, że "colony" nie ma takiego znaczenia w angielskim) by the sea or abroad. Children shouldn’t spend so much time at ( chyba nie błąd, ale "using computers" wydaje mi się jakieś ładniejsze) computers, and go outside to play football, volleyball , basketball or tennis. Children would borrow (bez "a", l.mnoga) bikes and skates for free (+ zmiana klejności). Ones a month they would go to a (na wyczucie, ale chodzi raczej o jakieś kino, niż konkretne) cinema, and watch films. They’d go to "animal shelters" (hospice to prawie na pewno tylko hospicjum dla ludzi) – they can help let dogs out. Children must (bez "to") learn language so they’d have a cheap lesson of English, German and French. Children should have someone they can talk with (<-kolejność) whenever they want, someone who would help them with (aż się prosi o "their" tutaj) problems, advise them what they should to do.
I think it makes children happy. They’d can (jak poprzednio: wuold,can albo would be able tp) spend time with friend, do things what they really like (<-jestem prawie pewien, że bez "s" ale to gramatyka, więc nie muszę mieć racji) and what will help them for the future.

I did enjoy the English breakfast very much, yes, although it was a bit too hearty for me, a bit copious. The hotel is also exquisite, very well located in a wonderful part of London, close to Buckingham Palace. As regards unemployed Poles and homeless Poles in London and the UK, I believe that there are a number of people, not only from Poland but from other countries from the new European Union who are helpless or feckless naturally, but they seek a better life, they go abroad and currently the UK has become a destination of choice for such individuals. Poland does not shirk responsibility for its own citizens. We are aware that this problem exists, we are aware that there are people who aren't doing very well in life but this is something you find in all society. Poland does not seek to avoid its share of the responsibility. We know that there are those who have succeeded in the UK, who have jobs, who are doing very well thank you considering especially the differences between the wages in the UK and in Poland. But these people are registered as unemployed in Poland, so they are living a fiction and they are raising the unemployment figures in Poland while they are doing very nicely here in the UK and their unemployment benefits should rightly be sent to London. And this is something that we would like to do without, but like I said Poland is not avoiding its share of the burden.

We try and make sure that we apply welfare rules fairly to all European citizens. But I have to say to you that the vast majority of Polish people that come and work here are working very hard, they are very well regarded and on the whole as I find, and as I think most people do certainly in a city like London, they are both well respected and well liked. And actually I think in time to come this will even itself out, and as the President said, as Poland continues its progress in the years to come European citizens will move across frontiers and often for short periods of time, and I think this is a very good and a healthy thing for the European Union. And actually one of the reasons why we opened our labour markets was because we knew this would be of benefit to us as well, and it has been of benefit to us as well. So although there are difficulties in certain areas, of course when you have significant numbers of people coming in, on the whole I think the Polish delegation here and yourselves will find a very warm welcome from British people towards people from Poland for reasons that are in part of history, but actually reasons today of meeting and mixing with Polish people in a very good way.

Dziekuje Panie prezydencie w imieniu rodakow z UK, majac nadzieje ze do Dublina jednak Pan nie zawita. Moi znajomi nie podzielaja tej nadziei- jeden z nich juz zaczal trzymac jaja na kaloryferze, a dwoch juz zaklepalo urlop.

Cytat ten pochodzi z przekładu New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, wydanie z roku 1984, z uwzględnieniem języków oryginału. Jeżeli zaczniesz z niego korzystać będziesz mile zaskoczony.
W wielu krajach istnieją liczne przekłady Biblii. Niektóre z nich są napisane niezrozumiałym, archaicznym językiem. Inne to swobodne, parafrazowane przekłady, których celem jest raczej łatwość odbioru niż wierność przekazu. Jeszcze inne są tłumaczone niemal słowo w słowo.
Angielski Przekład Nowego Świata, wydany przez Świadków Jehowy, został dokonany przez anonimowy komitet bezpośrednio z języków oryginału. Biblia ta posłużyła za podstawę do przygotowania około 60 innych wersji językowych. Pracujący nad nimi tłumacze często sięgali dla porównania do tekstów w językach oryginalnych. Celem Przekładu Nowego Świata jest jak najdosłowniejsze oddanie tekstu źródłowego, chyba że naruszyłoby to jego sens. Tłumacze dążyli do tego, by przekład był tak zrozumiały dla dzisiejszego czytelnika, jak tekst oryginalny dla ludzi żyjących w czasach biblijnych.
Niektórzy lingwiści przeanalizowali współczesne przekłady Biblii, w tym także Pismo Święte w Przekładzie Nowego Świata, pod kątem niedokładności i tendencyjności. Jednym z tych uczonych jest Jason David BeDuhn, religioznawca z Uniwersytetu Stanu Północna Arizona. W roku 2003 opublikował on 200-stronicową pracę na temat dziewięciu „Biblii najczęściej używanych w krajach anglojęzycznych”. W trakcie badań dokonał analizy wybranych kontrowersyjnych fragmentów, w których istnieje „największe prawdopodobieństwo, że subiektywne poglądy mogły wpłynąć na tłumaczenie”. Poszczególne wersje tych fragmentów porównał z tekstem greckim i sprawdził pod kątem prób tendencyjnej zmiany sensu. Do jakich wniosków doszedł?
BeDuhn wskazuje, że wiele osób, w tym sporo biblistów, zakłada, iż różnice widoczne między Przekładem Nowego Świata a innymi przekładami są podyktowane przekonaniami religijnymi jego tłumaczy. Stwierdza jednak: „Gros różnic wynika z większej zgodności NW [Przekładu Nowego Świata] z oryginałem jako przekładu dosłownie i pieczołowicie oddającego wyrażenia [użyte przez pisarzy biblijnych]”. Chociaż wspomniany uczony nie zgadza się ze sposobem przetłumaczenia niektórych fragmentów Przekładu Nowego Świata, to uznał go za „najwierniejszy z porównywanych” i „nadzwyczaj dobry”.
Podobną opinię na temat tego przekładu wydał izraelski hebraista Benjamin Kedar. W roku 1989 oświadczył: „Dzieło to jest rezultatem szczerych starań o jak najwierniejsze oddanie sensu tekstu. (...) Nie zauważyłem, by gdziekolwiek w Przekładzie Nowego Świata tendencyjnie próbowano włączyć do tekstu coś, czego on nie zawiera”.
Zapytaj samego siebie: W jakim celu czytam Biblię? Czy łatwość w czytaniu przedkładam nad wierność tłumaczenia? Czy raczej wolałbym mieć do dyspozycji przekład, który oddaje pierwotny natchniony tekst możliwie jak najdokładniej? (2 Piotra 1:20, 21). Od tego, co jest twoim celem, zależy, który przekład wybierzesz.
Zapewne zainteresuje Ciebie, których przekładów oprócz Przekładu Nowego Świata użył Jason David BeDuhn w tym porównaniu, wjęc podaję:The Amplified New Testament, The Living Bible, The New American Bible With Revised New Testament, New American Standard Bible, The Holy Bible — New International Version, The New Revised Standard Version, The Bible in Today’s English Version oraz King James Version.

The festival had been broadcasted on tv and on the radio every year. Well, in the sixties we did not have a real FM yet but a radio called Filodiffusione, cause it was working through a cable reaching your house...well my now 84 years old father used to record all the festival editions with his Revox from this Filodiffusione radio and he still has those reels....recently i went through those tapes and found the Yardbirds performances....Filodiffusione reception was often really bad, but this recording, if you consider the age and from what source was done is excellent.....many of you probably never heard Questa Volta with extended lyrics cause was only sung with these lyrics at the Sanremo festival...Another thing to say is that the Yardbirds were stayng at the Grand Hotel Del Mar in Bordighera, 3 miles from Sanremo.
In this hotel there is a swimming pool that has some stone pedestal in the middle of the pool
coming out from the water...many photo sessions were done in this pool, i did some too,,
and the cover of the italian single "shapes of things" was done in this pool during the days
of the Yardbirds' San Remo experience...i'll post the single cover in the comments section.

some additional corrections after? Shall I ask the author (you if I
understand well?) for the final version? I'm afraid not to see a later
